Thousands of people from different walks of life around Manchester have been exercising with MF since 1999. (Formerly British Military Fitness Manchester) Led by our highly professional Ex-Military Instructors, you're guaranteed to get a great workout whatever your ability. Whether you're looking to lose weight, increase your self-esteem, improve your fitness or meet new people, MF will deliver every time.
Each session is suitable for all abilities from absolute beginners to keen fitness enthusiasts. Our coloured bib system enables us to break you into groups with people with a similar ability level and allows our highly skilled instructors to provide the appropriate exercises and intensity for each individual.
BLUES (Beginners) For people that currently do little or no exercise or are returning to fitness training after a break (i.e. following injury, illness or post natal). We work to the ability of the group. Nobody is ever left behind.
REDS (Intermediate) For those who have worked their way up from a Blue bib or those joining us who have a reasonable standard of fitness already. Intermediate classes are a great way to challenge your speed, strength, agility and stamina and take your fitness to the next level.
GREENS (Advanced) Not for the faint hearted. This is where we challenge the fittest participants to their max. Separate advanced classes are run at most of our venues. The classes are highly rated by our seasoned members, who are now fit enough to be pushed to their limit and beyond
BEFORE THE SESSION
Try to arrive 10-15 Minutes before the session start time to meet your instructor, who will ask you about any medical conditions or injuries etc, they'll also explain what to expect during the session.
They'll introduce you to the group and partner you with somebody of a similar ability.
Turn up wearing sports kit and appropriate outdoor trainers for the session. Always bring gloves and hat
DURING THE SESSION
No 2 sessions are ever the same at Manchester Outdoor Fitness but expect to start with a 10-15 minutes warm up on the move, 10-15 minutes of strength work,10-15 minutes of Anaerobic work, 10-15 Minutes of Aerobic work ending with a team game/finisher and a cool down/stretch.
Turn up to each session fully hydrated, our instructors always carry water but we tend to limit waters breaks during the colder months.
Car keys/Valuables are carried by your instructor throughout the session so they are 100% safe at all times.
