Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about sizing, colours, collection and returns. Can't find your answer? Ask your instructor or drop us a message.

How do I find my size?

Try before you buy. We keep sample sizes at the Manchester Outdoor Fitness van, so try them on at your session before you order. Every item is made specially for you, so getting the size right first matters.

Sizes vary by item, so check that item's size guide before you order. All our size guides are garment measurements in cm, measured flat. The ladies' tees are a tapered fit and come up slimmer than the men's in the same size.

What colours can I choose?

The colours vary by item, so pick yours from the options on each product. The vests and tees come in loads of colours, not just the ones in the photos. The hoodie comes in Royal Blue, Fire Red, Kelly Green and Jet Black. Not sure? Ask your instructor or drop us a message.

Where is the logo?

The MF / MILITARY FITNESS logo is on the left chest, with MANCHESTER OUTDOOR FITNESS on the back.

How do I get my kit?

Kit is collection only. Once your order is ready, collect it at a session. We don't post kit out.

How long does it take?

Every item is made to order, so allow 2 to 3 weeks from ordering until it's ready to collect at a session.

Can I return or exchange my kit?

Every item is made specially for you, so we can't exchange or refund kit ordered in the wrong size. That's why we'd always ask you to try sample sizes on at the van first. If an item arrives faulty, tell Graham or drop us a message and we'll put it right.

How do I look after it?

Tees, vests and long sleeves: wash cold (30Β°C max). Do not tumble dry, iron, dry clean or bleach.

Hoodie: wash cold, tumble dry on low heat, iron on cool. Do not dry clean or bleach.

πŸ›Œ Sleep Hacks: How to Rest, Recover, and Perform Better

September 04, 2025β€’2 min read

Bed

At Manchester Outdoor Fitness, we know training hard is only half the battle β€” recovery is where the real magic happens. And nothing beats a good night’s sleep when it comes to recovery, energy, and overall health.

If you’ve been struggling to switch off at night or wake up feeling refreshed, try these science-backed biohacks from human biologist Gary Brecka.

1. Master the 10-3-2-1-0 Rule

A simple formula to reset your sleep hygiene:

  • πŸ•™ 10 hours before bed: No caffeine

  • πŸ₯‚ 3 hours before bed: No food or alcohol

  • πŸ’Ό 2 hours before bed: No work

  • πŸ“± 1 hour before bed: No screens

  • ⏰ 0: Snooze button presses

Stick to this rule and you’ll be amazed how much better you sleep.

2. Build a Sleep Sanctuary πŸ›οΈ

Make your bedroom a place your body associates with rest:

  • Declutter and keep it tidy

  • Dim the lights before bed

  • Invest in comfortable, cozy bedding

3. Create a Consistent Routine ⏳

Your body loves rhythm. Try to:

  • Go to bed at the same time every night

  • Add calming rituals like journaling, warm tea, stretching, or breathing exercises

  • Try box breathing: inhale 4s – hold 4s – exhale 4s – hold 4s

4. Use Smart Supplements (Not Sleeping Pills!) πŸ’Š

Instead of sedatives, which can fake sleep and leave you groggy, consider:

  • Magnesium Threonate – supports relaxation

  • L-Theanine – helps calm the mind

  • Low-dose Melatonin – may help reset your sleep cycle (if tolerated)

5. Avoid Heavy Meals Before Sleep 🍽️

Eating too much before bed makes your body work on digestion instead of recovery. This can disrupt deep sleep.

6. Ditch the Drugs 🚫

Tranquilisers might knock you out, but they don’t give you the restorative sleep your body and brain need.

πŸ‘Š The Challenge: Try It for a Week

Commit to these sleep hacks for 5–7 days and track how you feel. Most people notice:

  • Deeper, more restorative sleep

  • Better energy during workouts

  • Sharper focus during the day

Because better sleep = better life.

πŸ‘‰ Give it a go, and let us know how it works for you at Manchester Outdoor Fitness!
